2-day classroom-based course - Or 3-day course with EMERGENCY First Aid

A 2 or 3 day bespoke, classroom-based training with virtual reality simulations. This training is designed for those going to medium and high-risk contexts, as well as experienced travelers who may be doing short trips to severe risk contexts or need refresher training.

The course follows the latest best practice for personal security training. The training, tailored for the client organisation’s staff and objectives, will enable participants to be better prepared for and safer in, medium and high-risk environments. The course will be classroom based and can be hosted by the client, it uses immersive virtual reality to enhance the learning and retention for the participants.

DAY 1- Threats, Risk and Stress

An introduction to understanding risks in a high-risk context while recognising triggers for stress and mitigation measures, using VR to create a realistic situation in a safe environment. Areas covered include:

  • Identifying threats

  • Understanding strengths and vulnerabilities of different personal profiles

  • Developing risk awareness

  • Understanding typical and personal triggers for stress and creating appropriate mitigation measures.


DAY 2 – Mitigating Specific threats

An examination of mitigation measures to specific risks as identified by the client organisation and the personal profiles identified.  These may include:

  • travel planning

  • crime

  • sexual violence

  • civil unrest

  • digital

  • detention / abduction (if required)


DAY 3 (optional) - EMERGENCY FIRST AID

In the event of a serious incident in a high-risk location, a basic understanding of trauma first aid saves lives.  DHC works with leading complex environment first aid trainers to deliver comprehensive Trauma First Aid Participant skills are then tested in first aid scenarios.
