OUR HISTORY THROUGH OUR

Partnerships

From our foundation in 2013-22 we provided daily research on evolving political and security developments in Lebanon, Syria, Algeria, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, India and many more for Falanx Assynt, later Torchlight. We also started working with our partner organisation Pilgrims Risk Management Group, in particular on the following three projects:

DFID 2016-18 - SGS (Strengthening Governance Structures in Syria aka Tatweer Project) - Project managing the research and security analysis function of a major intervention in the Syria context supporting identified local councils, providing weekly overviews of internal and external political risks, drawing on daily social media monitoring and analysis, open and closed sources.

FCO 2017-2018 - Syria Peacebuilding Project (SPP) – Project managing the research and analysis function of a major intervention in Syria supporting local NGOs involved in reconciliation initiatives, managing a team to provide daily and weekly overviews of internal and external political risks drawing on social media monitoring and analysis, open and closed sources.

DFID 2014-16 - Access to Justice and Community Security (AJACS) Project - Project managing the research and analysis function of a major intervention in Syria supporting the work of the Free Syrian Police, providing weekly overviews of internal and external political risks drawing on social media, open and closed sources.

In 2020, DHC carried out risk assessments for IDP camps in Syria, supported an international organisation investigating a threat against a staff member, worked with a UK school to review its security arrangements, sponsored a blog on Covid-19 and instigated new partnerships with a training provider and a digital security risk management provider.

In 2021 DHC published reports on the Insecurity Insight website and after the conclusion of the H2H Ethiopia initiative, supported projects in Haiti. Our Covid blog concluded and we started a Global Medical Developments blog.

In 2022 we published thoughtpieces for GISF, started to support Pilgrims Risk Management Group with project management for a vide variety of clients, and secured a significant contract with GIZ to review their security management in Iraq. We also provided anti-corruption support to partner organisations of Start Network in DRC, India and Pakistan.

In 2023, we carried out a Martyn’s Law review of the Royal Holloway College campus, London University and started providing high risk travel support to both Royal Holloway and the University of London. We carried out a Security Risk Management Review for Medair with our newest DHC network member Lisa Reilly and provided interim security management support for CAFOD. We started our ongoing relationship with Caritas Europa, supporting their staff visiting Ukraine.

Already in 2024, we have run our first residential Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) course using innovative Virtual Reality tools alongside complex real life scenarios and we are developing our Security Training portfolio. We have started to support Christian Aid’s programmes in Ukraine and delivered security management training to SCIAF in Glasgow, as well as continuing to develop partnerships with all the organisations we’ve worked with in the last few years.
